News from the 2007 team
-photos-
Our trip this year was different because
of the restrictions by the government on our use of the Cultural
Center. We had used it for our camps and housing for many years. By
God's timing we had purchased a building for our sister church in
January and were able to use it for camps and other things. We stayed
in private homes, walked through the community on Saturday
evening to tell kids about the camps, and invited adults to men's and
women's night.
Some highlights this year are;
- More young kids than expected (102 instead of 30)
- More teens than expected (60 instead of 30)
- Very helpful, energetic adults and kids from the church helped a lot
- Pastor Miles was part of the team and was very effective with the teens.
- We used all areas of the church during the week
- We had many more parents at the festival/open house this year and were able to have them come in and see the church.
- Pastor Leonid passed out church
brochures to many people who visited or stopped by on the street to see
what all the excitement was about
- Our translators again were very helpful
- We had many kids and adults "repent" to become children of God
- Many positive comments from the Drabiv community
- We were able to help dedicate the new church at a service on Sunday
